The Vonlay: Protocols for Maximizing Structural Longevity and Predictability
Lecture up to 1 hour
Operative (Restorative) Dentistry, AGD Subject Code 250
The evolution of adhesives positions the Vonlay (Occlusal-Conservative Onlay) as the most structurally sound, minimally invasive option for posterior restorations. This program presents the biomechanical rationale behind this technique, specifically highlighting how its design preserves the vital enamel transverse ridges, which are stabilizers for posterior teeth. The result is a resilient restoration that can provide exceptional long-term predictability. The selection of ceramics, preparations & cementation protocols will all be presented.
Upon completion of this workshop, attendees should be able to:
- Apply case selection, prep design, and material choice for Vonlay restorations.
Execute adhesive protocols that maximize structural longevity and predictability.
